The Wolf's licence to broadcast to Wolverhampton has become available to any other interested company. The current licence is helf by Wolverhampton Area Radio Limited and is due to expire on 6 October 2009. (more)

Charlie Wolf confirms cancer

Former talkSPORT and RedFM presenter Charlie Wolf has told RadioToday.co.uk that he has cancer. He will have surgery to remove a tumour on his right kidney in the next fortnight and is expected to make a full recovery. Doctors believe they have caught the disease in time and the future prognosis is very good. (more)

Swedish Radio launching web radio channel devoted to Mozart

On January 27, the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Swedish Radio is launching the web-only radio channel SR Mozart. This will broadcast music by the famed Austrian composer 24 hours a day until December 8, as part of the anniversary year celebrations.

Breach of rule for talkSPORT

The latest Broadcast Bulletin from Ofcom contains details of a complaint made against Charlie Wolf on talkSPORT duing a phone-in on the station at 5:30am, 4th December 2005.
Two listeners objected to a presenter referring to a young American woman, who was killed by a military bulldozer while protesting in the Gaza strip, as “scum”. The complainants thought that, whatever the presenter’s politics, comments such as this were unnecessary when talking about a civilian who was killed while protesting. (more)
One Nine Media to launch TV and radio in Libya soon

One Nine Media has signed a contract with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), a German printing company, to open a new print house in Libya. The contract was signed by One Nine Media Chairman Abdulsalam Almishri, and Wolfgang Rot, the Director of Heidelberger's branch.
Almishri told reporters that the new printing centre is worth $16 million, and it will be located in Tripoli. He said (more)
