Jackie gets fast track licence

South West London station Radio Jackie is the only company to submit a declaration of intent for the Kingston-Upon-Thames FM commercial radio licence. But under Ofcom guidelines, they will still need to re-apply for their own licence, albeit under a 'fast-track' procedure. (more)

Ofcom is inviting declarations of intent from prospective applicants interested in taking over the licence currently held by Radio Jackie. If more than one declaration is received, the lience will be fully advertised next year. (more)

Jackie Brambles Pregnant

GMTV presenter Jackie Brambles is pregnant and plans on giving up her telly job to concentrate on being a full time mum. The 39 year old is married to David Tod and had her first baby in April - a boy, who she named Stanley. Brambles, who was born on the Isle of Arran has said that her second child will be due around the time of her 40th birthday. She currently works as a reporter for GMTV after giving up the role as Hollywood Reporter in the states 18 months ago so she could return to the UK.. (more)

Jackie welcomes Ofcom news

Radio Jackie in South West London welcomes the recent news from Ofcom that more community radio stations will be licensed. Radio Jackie has long advocated opening up the airwaves to more radio stations and is pleased that Ofcom now believes that four more frequencies can be found for stations in the London Boroughs of Merton, Sutton, Croydon and Kingston Upon Thames.
