Commercial Radio attracts more

The commercial radio industry has added an extra 300 thousand listeners in the last three months, taking the total to 31 million adults. National stations Classic FM and talkSPORT all gained a small amount of extra listeners, but Virgin took a slight total drop of 0.2 per cent (more)

BizAsia.co.uk brings you the full Sky Digital channel listings as they will appear after the reshuffle.
There are no changes planned for following EPG categories Documentaries, Sports, Adult and Radio.
Sky plans to implement a marketing campaign through a number of different media prior to the changes taking place in order to inform viewers of the changes.
The new channel line up is currently scheduled to be implemented on a genre by genre basis between 05:00 and 08:00 on the dates specified below.

Charlie Wolf confirms cancer

He will have surgery to remove a tumour on his right kidney in the next fortnight and is expected to make a full recovery. UTV has noted the announcement made by SMG that its board has rejected UTV's revised improved merger proposal to the board of SMG on 21st August 2006, pursuant to which SMG's shareholders would receive a 52% interest in the merged entity. Digital talkSPORT in Germany

talkSPORT has official broadcasting rights to the 2006 FIFA World Cup and to make the most of its live coverage, the station has struck a deal that also lets it broadcast on DAB digital radio in Germany during the World Cup.
The deal means that English football fans in Germany will be able to listen to an English radio station for up-to-the-minute World Cup reports and analysis on their DAB digital radios. Theyll also be able to take part in the phone-ins and give their reaction to crucial matches. (more)

The world's largest DAB digital radio network, operated by Digital One, turned on its 100th transmitter at Preseli in southwest Wales today.

The latest Broadcast Bulletin from Ofcom contains details of a complaint made against Charlie Wolf on talkSPORT duing a phone-in on the station at 5:30am, 4th December 2005.
Two listeners objected to a presenter referring to a young American woman, who was killed by a military bulldozer while protesting in the Gaza strip, as scum. The complainants thought that, whatever the presenters politics, comments such as this were unnecessary when talking about a civilian who was killed while protesting. (more)
