Scottie McClue and Alan Shields buy L107

North Lanarkshire local radio station L107 has been sold to CMG Radio - a new company part-owned by veteran Scottish talk radio host Scottie McClue. McClue, real name Colin Lamont, has teamed up with local businessman Alan Shields, a former managing director of Q96 in Paisley and Wave 102 in Dundee, to resurrect the station. Lamont [...] (more)

Former SRH buys into Ireland

The former chief executive of Scottish Radio Holdings and owner of Wave 102 is expected to buy up five radio stations in Ireland later this week. Richard Findlay, who quit SRH in 2004, is understood to be offering more than 50 million pounds to buy the stations. (more)

Wave 102 & Tay FM Favourites in Northern Scotland

The Breakfast Show on Wave 102 with Peter Mac and the Drivetime Show on Tay FM with Dave Connor have been voted the Best in Northern Scotland in a poll run by Merry Media.Over the past couple of months, Merry Media has been moving from region to region across the UK to find the best breakfast and drivetime shows on the radio with votes coming from within the radio industry as well as businesses and listeners.Peter Mac topped the Breakfast Show poll with his show on Wave 102 with 10% of the votes, second place was Stuart Webster with his show on Tay FM. Third place in the poll was Kenny King's breakfast show on Waves Radio Peterhead.. (more)

Findlay fails to agree deal

Former Radio Forth and Northsound boss Adam Findlay and his father, SMG chairman Richard Findlay have ended talks with Kingdom FM and Wave 102 about a possible takeover. A deal for Kingdom is said to have collapsed due to the two sides not being able to agree a price, according to a report. (more)

Scotland on Sunday is once again speculating that UTV station Wave 102 will be bought by former Scottish Radio Holdings boss Richard Findlay. Richard, along with his son Adam Findlay, a former boss at Radio Forth and Northsound, set up New Wave Media with the aim of buying radio and media assets. (more)
