Wessex listener spots mistake

A Wessex FM listener recently informed the station news team about a mistake broadcast by Challenge TV, which ultimately led to the television company paying out £31,000 to charity. Dorset listener Adrian Strong tipped off the TLRC station, who contacted the show. (more)

April Fool Jokes on radio

Local radio stations across the UK took the opportunity to fool listeners into an April Fool joke or two yesterday. One of them was TLRC station Wessex FM which told listeners an Olympic mini-dome was to be built on Weymouth beach as part of the redevelopment plan for the area. (more)

Regional TLRC boss joins Tindle

The Regional Managing Director for TLRC in the South John Baker, and Wessex FM Marketing and Promotions Manager Joss Baker are both joining Tindle Radio South in similar roles. John will join the group as Regional Managing Director, which includes overseeing operations at Kestrel FM in Basingstoke, Kick FM in Newbury, Delta Radio in East Hampshire and Win FM in Winchester. Both John and Jeff join the group in October and will be tasked with launching the radio station for Andover next year – a new licence awarded to Tindle Radio in July. (more)
