WRN expands its US rebroadcasting by partnering with WHRV FM

Chris Moyles is to get an extra hour on the air every day as Radio 1 announces a new schedule. Also, JK and Joel will leave the station as Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates take over the Sunday evening chart show, and former Radio Norfolk work experience assistant and Student Radio award winner Greg James will host early breakfast. The United Nations says it wants to see the unique language of Norfolk Island preserved. The Islanders are descendants of Manx mutineer Fletcher Christian and the Bounty crew – the surname Christian is still one of the most common among the 2,000 inhabitants. This quarters newcomers to RAJAR have got off to a great start. North Norfolk Radio made an impressive debut appearance with a 20 per cent weekly reach, 9.4 average hours and 7.6 per cent audience share. Meanwhile Yorkshire Coast showed an impressive 42 per cent weekly reach, and 19.9 per cent audience share. (more)

New Norfolk MD for Tindle

SGR FM's Gina Frost's joining East Anglian rivals Tindle Radio to become Managing Director of Radio Norwich and North Norfolk Radio. She's spent the last three years with GCap Media at SGR Ipswich and SGR Colchester - but started her radio career in Norfolk at Radio Broadland. She'll start at Tindle next month. (more)

Oldest BBC presenter dies

John Taylor, known to be the oldest presenter on BBC Radio and host of a weekly Sunday programme on BBC Radio Norfolk has died.John died on Wednesday, peacefully in his sleep. His programme this week will feature a tribute to the veteran broadcaster. (more)

Britain's oldest BBC local radio presenter, John Taylor, died peacefully in his sleep ealier today, aged 85. John presented a popular weekly Sunday programme on BBC Radio Norfolk called Radio Times, playing songs from a bygone age.. (more)

The sun is shining on BBC Radio Norfolk today after official figures revealed the number of people listening to the station has reached an all time high. 271,000 people in the county now listen to Radio Norfolk each week, that's 21,000 more than listened a year ago.. (more)

Radio Norfolk presenter dies

BBC Radio Norfolk presenter John Mills died yesterday (2 March 2006) after a long battle against cancer. John was a familiar voice on Radio Norfolk having presented a range of shows since the station first went on air in 1980. (more)

New name and logo for Norwich

99.9 Radio Norwich has been confirmed as the name of the City’s new radio station, which launches later this year. The new station has also released its brand and visual identity, which has been designed by award-winning local advertising and graphic design consultancy, Creative Sponge. 99.9 Radio Norwich is a joint venture between two of the UK’s most successful local radio operators, Tindle Radio and Town and Country Broadcasting, and involves a host of local business people and personalities as Directors.
