BBC opt-out for Milton Keynes

BBC Three Counties Radio is to provide a breakfast show for the Milton Keynes area, as an opt-out to the main programming. Morning:MK will air on 104.5 FM and will be presented by Luke Ashmead and Helen Legh from 6am till 9am each weekday. (more)
Three Counties DAB advertised

Ofcom are inviting applications to run a new DAB multiplex for Herts, Beds and Bucks. The service will also cover the unitary authorities of Luton and Miton Keynes. It's the first in a series of new multiplexes being created to advance the spread of digital radio around the country. (more)
New editor for Southern Counties

Nicci Holliday has been confirmed as the managing editor of BBC Southern Counties Radio.
Nicci, who joined the BBC twelve years ago and started her career on BBC Three Counties Radio, has been acting managing editor of the station for the past five months. She took the role over from Neil Pringle who held the post for two years and now presents the station's Sussex breakfast show. (more)
Gypsies land new radio show

A new radio show for travellers and gypsies in the East of England was launched this weekend. Rokker Radio is presented by Jake Bowers, Britain's only Romani journalist, and is a weekly radio show broadcast across six local radio stations in the BBC East region.
Jake started working for the BBC a few months ago when he launched Rokker Radio on BBC Three Counties Radio, broadcasting across Beds, Herts and Bucks. (more)

A new radio show for travellers and gypsies in the East of England was launched this weekend. Rokker Radio (Sundays 7pm till 9pm) is presented by Jake Bowers, Britain's only Romani journalist, and is a weekly radio show broadcast across six local radio stations in the BBC East region. Jake started working for the BBC a few months ago when he launched Rokker Radio on BBC Three Counties Radio, broadcasting across Beds, Herts and Bucks.. (more)
BBC Three Counties Radio launches Romany programme

BBC Three Counties Radio is launching a weekly programme produced by, and for, British Gypsies. Rokker Radio (which means Talk Radio in Romany language) will be presented by Jake Bowers every Sunday evening from 9 April. Bowers is one of Britain's only Romany journalists and is a regular contributor to The Guardian and BBC Radio 4.
