Adam Shaw: A good face for radio ... and not bad at it either

Maybe it's his bald pate, or his mildly rotund jaw, or the arched eyebrows that give him more than a passing resemblance to David Suchet, of Agatha Christie's Poirot fame. Either way, Adam Shaw has definitely got a great face for television. Not in the conventional way of a Kaplinsky or a Buerk, perhaps, but in the sort of understated theatricality one might more readily associate with Elizabethan tragedy. (more)

BizAsia.co.uk brings you the full Sky Digital channel listings as they will appear after the reshuffle.
There are no changes planned for following EPG categories Documentaries, Sports, Adult and Radio.
Sky plans to implement a marketing campaign through a number of different media prior to the changes taking place in order to inform viewers of the changes.
The new channel line up is currently scheduled to be implemented on a genre by genre basis between 05:00 and 08:00 on the dates specified below.

The BBC Asian arts and entertainment show 'Desi DNA' has teamed up with the BBC Asian Network for two special shows to be aired in February.
'Desi DNA', which is fronted by Adil Ray, Anita Rani, Bobby Friction, Samanthi, Parv Bancil, Nikki Bedi, Tommy Sandhu and Bidisha returned on BBC Two for its fifth series last week.
'Desi DNA & Asian Network Presents' is a multi platform Asian music collaboration spanning DAB digital radio, online, mobile and TV. For the first time full performances from the gig will be available to digital tv viewers via the red button from any BBC channel between 13th and 20th February.
'Desi DNA & BBC Asian Network Presents' introduces the first of two programmes from a specially recorded showcase presented by Adil Ray and Bobby Friction.
On Wednesday 13th February (23:20) there are live performances and backstage interviews from artists including Danish rap outfit Outlandish, resurgent R and B singer Jay Sean, currently gaining chart success for his new single Ride It and a rising crop of new talent including exotic electro folk sitar player and singer Bishi and Bhangra DJs Tigerstyle, making their TV debut.
Recorded in December exclusively for 'Desi DNA' and the BBC Asian Network at London’s Scala Theatre, digital TV viewers can watch full performances from Jay Sean and Outlandish by pressing the red button from any BBC channel.
The second 'Desi DNA & BBC Asian Network Presents' which airs on BBC Two on Wednesday 20th February, introduces more exclusive recordings from the Scala gig. The programme features live performances from Bhangra progressives Swami, more from Jay Sean, and hip hop outfit Sona Family.
This will be the first time the Asian Network will function the red button facility on digital TV.

The deadline to apply to Ofcom for an RSL (Restricted Service Licence) radio licence to cover the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan for 2008 has now passed, according to RadioToday.
Ofcom received a total of 71 applications, 16 of those coming from stations who would like to broadcast to the Bradford area.
Applications were also received for stations in Blackburn, Bolton, Bristol, Burton-on-Trent, Cardiff, Dudley, Dundee, Edinburugh, Glasgow, Halifax, Harrow, Hendon, Huddersfield, Keighley, Leeds, Leicester, London, Luton, Manchester, Middlesborough, Oldham, Peterborough, Preston, Reading, Sheffield, Slough, Sutton, Thornton Heath and Walsall.

Stars confirmed for ZEE Carnival 2007

ZEE Network's huge three-day lifestyle exhibition the 'ZEE Carnival' is just under a month away. Keeping that in mind, the network has finally confirmed the stars that will be attending the mega event.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra whose last film 'Don' proved a runaway success at the box office will be headlining. Eesha Deol will also be making her presence felt at the event. Music director and former 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' show judge Himesh Reshammiya has also been confirmed.
Ace Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi will also be attending this year's Carnival.
This time around, ZEE Network is taking full advantage of its event to promote its flagship soaps. Actors playing the following characters will be attending the ZEE Carnival, next month: Jay Walia and Bani Walia from 'Kasamh Se', Nahar Singh from 'Saat Phere', Vidhya from 'Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann' and Sanjeev Kapoor from 'Khana Khazana' taking control of the Cookery Theatre.
Last year when the ZEE Carnival was launched, the event attracted over 30,000 spectators over the three days. This year, the TV giant is expecting it to be even bigger. ZEE Carnival 2007 will be held at the London Olympia between 16th - 18th February.
