A campaign has been launched to reverse the decision of the Slovak regulator to withdraw permission for Radio Tatras International (RTI)Â to broadcast its English programmes on FM across Slovakia. RTI attracts Horwich Sewing

Caroline goes FM on Aug 14th

Radio Caroline is to re-broadcast on FM in Europe thanks to the services of Radio Tatras International. The special broadcast is to mark the 40th Anniversary of the passing of the Marine Offences Act in which all pirate radio stations closed down, with the exception of Caroline. (more)
RTI launches music club

Pan-European English and Slovak radio station Radio Tatras International is launching a Music Club for listeners throughout Europe. The station is also celebrating its 2nd birthday this weekend by counting down the Top 500 songs of all time, arriving at the number one song at 11pm Monday. (more)

RTI drops mediumwave service

Today is the the last day of RTI (Radio Tatras International) transmitting on 1350AM across central and northern Europe. The digital satellite service of RTI, even in areas where 1350 can be heard, is already out performing the 1350AM service.
RTI has said they are committed to the digital age and will be announcing further digital offerings soon and/or services that will transform from analogue to digital in a suitable time frame. (more)

English and Slovak station RTI, Radio Tatras International, has launched on Sky Digital 0195.
RTI already broadcasts to mainland Europe on 1350AM covering from Germany through the Baltics into and including Scandinavia plus 94.2 and 94.8FM in Slovakia reaching most of the V4 countries. The station is run by ex-BBC and commercial radio person Eric Wiltsher. Studios are based in Poprad Slovakia, with secondary studios in the UK and Riga. (more)

English/Slovak station RTI, Radio Tatras International, will launch on Sky Digital 0195 this Monday evening at 7.00pm UK time (1800 UTC). RTI already broadcasts to mainland Europe on:
1350AM covering from Germany through the Baltics into and including Scandinavia.94.2 and 94.8FM in Slovakia reaching most of the V4 countries.

Radio station to release song

Radio Tatras international are today releasing a song which was originally meant as a promotional tool to celebrate the first birthday of the international station.
The track, called Twenty Four Seven Go has been recorded by Fantasy World vs RTI and will be published via iTunes stores by DWP Records based in Melbourne. (more)

The unique network of RTI started broadcasting at 8.00pm CET on 9 April, 2005 with its launch show being aired from AquaCity, Poprad, Slovakia. RTI, Radio Tatras International have announced the launch of the Scandinavian Top 20, produced and hosted by Matthew French, every Sunday at 8.00pm CET. The Scandinavia Top 20 is compiled in studios in Turku, Finland which is ideally located to collate the latest data from the music-buying people of that region.
Eric Wiltsher, Director RTI, said: “It is with great pleasure we welcome Matthew to our international team. He will add a dimension to the station that many of our listeners will thoroughly enjoy.
“In a recent independent survey of RTI, our Slovak Top Chart was the most listened to daytime show. Following closely in second place was Larry London. The survey also showed, also with our Slovak listeners, that our English programmes, overall, produces the highest listening levels on RTI.
“Therefore, a new chart show aired in the English language is destined to be a major hit with our listeners”. (more)

Pan-European broadcaster Radio Tatras International (RTI) and the Voice of America (VOA) have teamed up to launch the VOA’s Border Crossings programme on RTI. Border Crossings is in its 10th year as the Voice of America's premier music request live call in programme. Hosted by Larry London, Border Crossings airs Monday through Friday for an hour on RTI starting at 1800 UTC.

Radio Tatras International now on satellite

Eric Wiltsher of Radio Tatras International informs us that the satellite service on the BSkyB platform (28.2 E) is now up and running, though it isn't as yet on the Electronic Programme Guide. It can be found on 11623H, FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500.
Digibox owners can add the station manually as follows:

Radio Tatras International readied for satellite launch

Radio Tatras International (RTI) is in the final stages of launching its first pan-European satellite service just as BSkyB announced that the satellite which will carry RTI is now viewed by 8.1 million homes in the UK alone. RTI will thereby become accessible to more homes than the entire population of Slovakia.

The Director of Pan-European radio station Radio Tatras International (RTI) has rubbished a story from an online source in Germany which says that "Due to a lack of funds at Radio Tatras International, the RTI relays via Kuldiga, Latvia on 1350 kHz (provided by Krebs TV) will end on 1 February."
