Clyde 1 Scoops Scotland’s First Music Week Award

Radio station, 102.5 Clyde 1, has gone where no Scottish station has gone before and won the Regional Radio Station of the Year title at awards run by influential magazine, Music Week. To win, it had to beat off the challenge of 99.9 Radio Norwich, Heart 106.2, XFM London and XFM Manchester.... (more)

Radio Norwich reaches 7%

Tindle's 99.9 Radio Norwich has had it's first ever RAJAR figures today - they show the station's got 35,000 listeners tuning in every week, representing 7% of its TSA. The station recorded a 2.2% share of its market. (more)

Kay made Tindle Regional PD

Radio Norwich breakfast presenter Tom Kay's been handed a nice Christmas bonus from the bosses at Tindle Radio - he's being made Regional Programme Director for North Anglia. He'll also join the 99.9 Radio Norwich board of directors. (more)

99.9 Radio Norwich goes live

The new number for Norwich - 99.9 Radio Norwich has launched this morning after two weeks of test transmissions, and a 10 minute countdown sequence featuring local people along side popular bands and singers such as the Pet Shop Boys and Orson. The launch includes an impressive history lesson all about Norwich. The first song played was Good Times by Chic - introduced by Breakfast presenter Tom Kay. Radio Norwich is owned by Tindle Radio and won the licence as Crown FM from Ofcom just 12 months ago on 9th June 2005. (more)

More new stations for Arqiva

Arqiva has announced a further batch of 12-year Total Broadcast Contracts for new FM commercial radio stations. In Cornwall, Atlantic FM will be broadcasting to the county from mid 2006. The Banbury licence was won by The Bear, part of the CN Group of smaller stations, and will provide a locally focused service in and around the town. 99.9 Radio Norwich, backed by the Tindle Group, will be focusing on the city of Norwich. The second Solent licence, won by CanWest-backed Original 106 FM, will provide an ‘adult alternative’ service aimed at the 40-59 year age range from transmitters on the Isle of Wight, in Bournemouth and in Winchester. Torbay and the surrounding area will have a full local service from Palm FM, a station wholly owned by the London Media Company, whose other interests include Sunrise Radio and the Time FM branded stations. New name and logo for Norwich

99.9 Radio Norwich has been confirmed as the name of the City’s new radio station, which launches later this year. The new station has also released its brand and visual identity, which has been designed by award-winning local advertising and graphic design consultancy, Creative Sponge. 99.9 Radio Norwich is a joint venture between two of the UK’s most successful local radio operators, Tindle Radio and Town and Country Broadcasting, and involves a host of local business people and personalities as Directors. Tindle Radio owns adjacent market-leading stations The Beach and North Norfolk Radio. (more)
