The radio industry is reporting highs and lows as the final set of listening figures for 2007 are released today. Swansea Bay Radio, Seven FM, Brunel FM and Original 106.5 are reporting for the first time, whilst Hertbeat has dropped out of the survey. (more)

Swansea Bay to the rescue

An Australian couple whose european tour was plunged into chaos after the theft of their campervan in Swansea have been reunited with it thanks to Swansea Bay Radio. The station broadcast an appeal on the breakfast show, leading to the vehicle being found within two hours. (more)

Stations ban X-Factor single

Radio stations owned by Town and Country Broadcasting in Wales have banned the winning X Factor single by Scottish Leon Jackson. Listeners to Bridge FM, Swansea Bay Radio, Radio Carmarthenshire, Radio Pembrokeshire and Scarlet FM want a re-count after it was revealed Welsh Rhydian missed out on the winning prize. (more)

Swansea Bay Radio goes live

The new local radio station for Swansea Bay has taken to the airwaves. 102.1 Swansea Bay Radio launched at midday on Sunday with the first song by Robbie Williams - Back for good.The song signifies the return of the station, having previously operated an RSL licence over a year ago in the area.
