Utopia's final trial broadcast

Sunderland's student radio station Utopia FM is broadcasting on a temporary Restricted Service Licence from Ofcom for the final time this month, ahead of its full time launch next year. (more)

RSLs hold the key to licence

All four of the recently licenced community radio stations have ran at least one Restricted Service Licence before being awarded a five year licence, Ofcom has announced. One group, Utopia FM in Sunderland has completed nine temporary broadcasts over the years. (more)

More community radio awards

Ofcom has awarded four more community radio groups with a five year licence. The new stations are 3TFM in North Ayrshire, Utopia FM in Sunderland, Community Voice FM in Middlesbrough and Spice FM in Newcastle. (more)
