A new service for the radio industry has launched today. Park Media, the people behind radio news website RadioToday.co.uk bring you a new way to get your radio news - via text message to your mobile phone. Text the word 'today' to 60066 to join. Major Radio Stories Alert via Email has proven very popular - and now busy radio professionals can receive the very latest breaking news even when they are not at their computer or connected to the office email system. Even better news comes as the service is being provided free of charge for the first few weeks, although a 25p subscription charge still applies. (more)

Four applications for Exeter

Five applications have been submitted to Ofcom for the recently advertised Exeter licence. However, one of the applications was considered invalid as it failed to comply with the published guidelines. This is the first time an application has been publicly rejected since Ofcom was formed. The four remaining bids come from London Media (owners of Time FM and Sunrise), Macquarie, Laser Broadcasting and Your Radio which is made up of a local board of directors. (more)
