VOA adds two FM affiliates in Bangladesh

BBC launches two FM stations in DR Congo

BBC opens two FM relay stations in Mauritania

The BBC has launched two 24-hour FM relays in Mauritania. Adventist World Radio planning more Asian languages on shortwave

Adventist World Radio says it plans to add Lao, Thai and Hmong to its roster of langauges. Programmes in Lao will be broadcast both on shortwave from AWR’s station on Guam and from FM stations located in Thailand across from the capital city of Vientiane, Laos. RTÉ to seek new DAB radio licence

Ofcom add South Wales to list

Ofcom have updated their list of future licences to be advertised. The only change is the addition of South Wales where another regional licence is on offer. Using two FM frequencies, the new licence should cover the area inbetween, and including Cardiff and Swansea. Whilst coverage of Newport is expected to be very limited, it is not specifically excluded from this licence; however, no additional frequency will be available to enhance coverage of the city.
