Radio Clyde had a temporary new home at the weekend, moving from a studio box to a 42 foot long luxury yacht. The station was helping Glasgow attract over 85,000 people to this year's River Festival. "The Radio Clyde Cruiser", as it was known, was captained by Clyde 2’s Bill Smith. (more)

Lord Jimmy Returns to Radio Clyde

Lord Jimmy Gordon of Strathblane is returning to Radio Clyde as Chairman only a year after leaving the post when Emap bought over Scottish Radio Holdings. Lord Jimmy helped set up Radio Clyde in the seventies and is proud and thrilled about returning to the station. Recent RAJAR reports show that Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 are in fierce competition with competitiors like Real Radio, XFM, Saga and Q96. Emap are hoping that Lord Jimmy will get Clyde back on track again.. Radio Clyde 261 is back!

Radio Clyde 261 T-shirts have become a retro hit across the world thanks to rock legend Frank Zappa. Music fans from Europe to Los Angeles have been buying the replica vintage T-shirts once worn by the legend during a concert in Glasgow in 1980.
Zappa asked for one of the distinctive t-shirts after visiting Radio Clyde in 1980 for an interview with then Programme director, Andy Park. Zappa was proud to wear the T-shirt as Radio Clyde were supporting him by playing his music. (more)
Radio Clyde adds 25000 listeners

The latest quarterly audience figures show that Radio Clyde has added 25,000 new listeners with a total of 721,000 adults now tuning in every week.
Clyde 1 is the biggest station in the west reaching an audience of 588,000 each week and that’s 165,000 more than its nearest rival.
Clyde 2’s reach has increased from 16% to 17% and its market share is up from 7.7% to 8.3%. The station has added 31,000 new listeners and now has a total audience of 316,000. (more)
