As Channel 4 celebrates its 30th birthday, Sir Jeremy Isaacs, the station's founding chief executive, weighs up its legacy in an article for the Daily Telegraph. "After I left C4, I tended to be overcritical of its output in other hands. Sour grapes, perhaps... Big Brother, perhaps the channels biggest ever rating attraction and revenue earner, was innovative at first, but long outstayed its welcome... Today, I share C4s pride in what they do. Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up at the Oscars. Drama is making a comeback.
