The proposed closure of BBC 6 Music has attracted almost eight thousand complaints, the BBC has confirmed.Asian Network, also destined to close next year, has had 624 people voice their opinion during the last 10 days. (more)

The Afghan radio station Ariana FM started broadcasting Deutsche Welle’s radionovela “Learning by Ear” on Friday, 5 March, 2010. Germany’s international broadcaster has planned 50 episodes – each 15 minutes long – in the two national languages Dari and Pashtu. (more)

New administrative arrangements and financing reforms for the public service Finnish Broadcasting Company, YLE, have been put on hold. The Minister of Communications, Suvi Lindén, announced yesterday that decisions on reforms will be put off until after new Parliamentary elections. (more)
