Countdown is a letters and numbers game on Channel 4. It was the first programme broadcast on the station. Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman were the original presenters. Following Whiteley's death in 2005, Des Lynam took over. The programme is recorded at Yorkshire Television in Leeds.
