Galaxy

From Media UK's The Knowledge. Last update: 10:09, 26 May 2005 by GavRichards. Based on work by Ashley Elford.

(1) Network of four metropolitan radio stations operated by Chrysalis. AKA Galaxy Network.

(2) Now defunct general entertainment channel run by the ill-faited BSB. The channel broadcast daily from 8am until 2am. "Galaxy Club" featured children's programming, and bought the UK never before seen programming such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (although BSB insisted on "Ninja" being replaced by "Hero"). The majority programming was produced in house, when the channel was closed by BSkyB most content remained in store until it was bought for transmission on UK Gold in 1992. Some programming however has never been shown on UK TV ever again including programmes such as "Heil Honey, I'm Home", a comedy based on a parody of Hitler, getting into trouble with his Jewish neighbours.
