Great Yorkshire Radio

Created by the Metro Radio Group as a replacement for Classic Gold, Great Yorkshire Radio was intended to replicate the success of the group's Great North Radio.
The station was broadcast from Hallam FM's studios in Sheffield, rather than Viking FM's Hull studios.
Sharing a similar logo to the old Classic Gold, with typography borrowed from GNR, the completely-networked station was not a great success with listeners, and was re-branded Great Yorkshire Gold as a return to its roots a few years later.
