ITN News Channel

The ITN News Channel was a multimedia news service operated by ITN between August 2000 and September 2002.
The ITN News Channel was a joint venture between ITN and NTL, which aimed to be available on no fewer than 10 platforms:
- Television channel by cable: NTL, Cable & Wireless and Telewest
- Television channel by DTT: morning window on SDN to all ONdigital homes
- Television channel by digital satellite: Digital Astra to all Sky Digital homes
- Video stream on the web: itn.co.uk to PCs
- Video-on-demand on ADSL: Videonetworks
- Audio and text on mobile phones: Orange
- Audio channel with headline text on national digital radio: Digital One to digital radios
- Audio channel on digital TV: satellite and cable to digital TV sets
- Audio channel on the web: itn.co.uk to PCs
- Audio channel with headlines text and web-style pages via Psion Wavefinder direct to laptops (first step to direct-to-PDAs).
Launch presenters on the channel included Carol Barnes, Alison Bell, Ros Childs, Leyla Daybelge, Daljit Dhaliwal, Andrew Harvey, Julia Somerville, John Suchet and Simon Vigar.
ITN's stake in the company was bought out by Carlton and Granada in mid-2002.
In September 2002 the television service was rebranded the ITV News Channel, though the channel's content continued to be provided by ITN.
