Jeff Cooper

Jeff Cooper is a radio presenter and producer.

Jeff currently owns an internet radio station, radio2XS, which he runs from studios near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and is a presenter on 100.4 Smooth FM in Manchester, and 106.6 Smooth Radio in the East Midlands.

Jeff's past radio stations include Hallam FM and Magic AM as well as work for the BBC and public service broadcasters in Europe. He left Hallam FM in the late 1990s to take up the roles of Programme Controller at Silk FM in Macclesfield and then Peak FM in Chesterfield.

Going further back, he was part of the original line-up at Piccadilly Radio in 1974; moved to BBC Radio 2 as a newsreader and presenter ('The Early Show' and 'Night Ride'), then spent some years at Radio Trent, Radio Clyde and Radio City before moving to Italy to set up and run an FM station which broadcast across the frontier into Lugano, Switzerland. On his return, he briefly depted at Chiltern FM and Beacon Radio before becoming a regular presenter on the satellite station The Superstation whilst also being part of the original line-up of Rock FM, leaving in 1993 to join Hallam FM (above).
