Pirate Radio

From Media UK's The Knowledge. Last update: 14:26, 31 Oct 2005 by Stuart Pinfold.

'Pirate Radio' is a term given to a radio station which is not legally licensed, either by OFCOM or the music licensing authorities.

Pirate radio stations are usually found in urban ciy areas, run from high-rise tower blocks to maximise their broadcasting area.
