Ross is a radio presenter, and has presented on Radio Aire, Pennine FM, and The Pulse of West Yorkshire in the 1980s and 1990s. He was breakfast presenter at Radio Aire for a time. His previous job was a theatre actor.
He is also heard as the radio presenter in the Yorkshire film 'Rita, Sue and Bob too'.
Ross's broadcasting was warm and witty. Some 'catchphrases' followed him around: a spoken female ident saying "Ross on my radio - oh no, not again...", and a unique way of telling the time: "It's 12.42, or if you like it better that way, 18 minutes to one".
