Rugby Hospital Radio

From Media UK's The Knowledge. Last update: 23:16, 17 Sep 2005 by Andrew Garner. Based on work by James Hatts, Vincent Lo and Tony Wilding.

Rugby Hospital Radio is an independent charity providing the internal radio service to the patients at the Hospital of St Cross in Rugby, Warwickshire.

Rugby Hospital Radio broadcasts daily, including a patients' request programme. The requests are collected by volunteer members, who visit the wards each day to meet patients. All members also assist in fundraising to maintain the service.

As with many hospital radio stations Rugby Hospital Radio has come a long way since its formation in 1972 and the positive comments and letters received from patients, their families and friends confirm the true value of their service.
