SMG

SMG plc is a media conglomerate based in Scotland with interests across the UK. They were formerly known as the Scottish Media Group. Their headquarters are currently in 200 Renfield Street, Glasgow - though the group plans to move to new purpose-built headquarters shortly at Pacific Quay on the banks of the River Clyde.
SMG owns:
- Scottish TV, the ITV franchise holder for Southern Scotland
- Grampian TV, the ITV franchise holder for Northern Scotland
- Virgin Radio, the national pop and rock radio station
- Pearl and Dean, the cinema advertising company
- Primesight, the outdoor adverting contractor
- Ginger Television and SMG Television Productions, television programme makers.
SMG sold its newspaper and magazine publishing business, which published The Herald and the Evening Times, in 2002 to Newsquest.
