Sky Gnome

In 2005, Sky will launch a unit called the Sky Gnome, a portable unit that receives the audio from a Sky digital television receiver.
The Sky Gnome will enable satellite-delivered radio stations to be enjoyed at up to 100 metres away from the satellite receiver. It also allows users to enjoy television audio in a similar way.
The Sky Gnome has rechargeable batteries, contains speakers, and appears to have an audio-out socket for connection to hifis or powered speakers. It has a display which shows limited information, apparently the channel number, the station name, and the current programme.
A price-point, and final launch date, have yet to be revealed by the company.
