Steve Penk
Steve Penk is a radio and TV presenter. Renowned for his wind-up calls, he has worked in many national and local radio stations, and is currently at Key 103 in Manchester.
Steve began his career at Manchester's Piccadilly Radio in 1978. For his last five years at the station, Penk presented the Breakfast Show, attracting three times as many listeners as his nearest local and national rivals.
In 1996, Steve moved to 95.8 Capital FM, where quickly became famous for his wind-ups on the unsuspecting public. He is most famous for his notorious on-air wind up in 1998 on the Prime Minister, Tony Blair. Steve's wind-up was a national news story, being reported on the television and making the front pages of all the national newspapers.
Steve moved to Virgin Radio in 2001 to take over the drivetime show, but, following the departure of Chris Evans, Steve took over as presenter of the breakfast show. In 2002 Steve resigned from Virgin Radio.
Following his departure from Virgin, Steve returned to Capital Radio to present a late-night show that was boradcast on a number of the group's stations including 95.8 Capital FM and BRMB.
Steve now has a mid morning show back on Manchester's Key 103.
Steve has appeared on TV as presenter of two shows on ITV1. "TV's Naughtiest Blunders" is a compilation of the cheekiest out-takes from popular TV shows while "TV Nightmares" is a compilation of television clips showing well known celebrities in embarrassing situations.
