Tony Blackburn is a radio presenter.

He was born Kenneth Roswell Blackburn and educated at Millfield School. He began his career as a singer, then worked as a DJ for the offshore pirate radio stations Radio Caroline and Radio London, before joining the BBC in the mid-1960s.

He was the first DJ to be heard when BBC Radio 1 was launched in 1967, and for many years afterwards hosted the breakfast show and was the UK's number one DJ. His cheery style and corny jokes ensured his household and made him a popular name.

Tony now hosts the breakfast show on Classic Gold Digital, with co-host Laura Pitson, and also on BBC London 94.9 on Saturday lunchtimes.

He has also performed in a radio drama based on the Doctor Who television series by Big Finish Productions - The Rapture in which he plays the part of a DJ in an Ibiza nightclub where angels are brainwashing the clubbers.

In 2002 he was the winner of the ITV reality TV programme I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!'
