Wes Butters
Wes Buttersis a former presenter of BBC Radio One's Official Chart Show.
Wes was born in Salford in May 1979, where he spent his youth, and studied media at Salford University in the late 1990s.
Wes's career began at Wish FM, a local station serving Wigan and St. Helens, where he presented traffic news with AA Roadwatch. In December 1998, Wes moved to Century 105 based in Salford Quays where he presented various evening and weekend shows. He also had a stint at Galaxy 105-106 in Newcastle upon Tyne from 2000 to 2002, where he presented various day-time shows and became Head of Music.
Wes moved to Radio One to present the chart show in early 2003. He was in competition with the show's previous host, Mark Goodier, who had joined Emap to present their networked Smash Hits Chart.
Wes left Radio 1 in early 2005, and was replaced by JK and Joel. He currently presents a Saturday afternoon programme on Manchester's Key 103.
In October 2005, Wes became the proud host of 'Wes@Breakfast' on Galaxy Manchester. Back in his home city and presenting the show with Irish Alan, Wes can be heard doing 'My Scally Brother', 'Monkey Tennis' and interviewing various celebs on the show.
