Stephen Wall posted on Monday 6th May at 12:35Why is there no coverage for today’s stage???. Super bikes is covered on all 3 Eurosport channels. Surely you could have slotted in the highlights sometime in today’s listings. Cycling always seem s to get second fiddle on Eurosport. Sky Sports seems to be taking up coverage so is the future to subscribe to Sky Sports

I’d love to get a reply from someone at Eurosport responsible for these ridiculous scheduling clangers. I used to recommend Eurosport’s cycling coverage to others, but no more.

Have you actually put your comments to Eurosport directly rather than just posting on the Media UK Discussion Area?
According to the Media UK directory their contact email address is ukcomms@eurosport.com

I suspect that it might more to be down to rights. This year Sky Sports has highlights of the Giro, in addition to Eurosport’s live coverage and highlights. There may be a clause that means that Eurosport can’t overlap its highlights with Sky’s. And since Sky’s coverage is right in the middle of the evening, that essentially forces Eurosport to move their highlights to late night.
I don’t know if this is the case, but it wouldn’t be unheard of.

This year’s coverage of the Giro d’Italia by Eurosport has been abysmal so far.
1) Why are you showing prime time evening highlights of the minor and second-rate Tour of California while tonight, for example, you are not even showing ANY highlights of the Giro??
2) Not only that, but there is a repeat of the Tour of California highlights programme later on Eurosport 2 (why not the Giro instead??) AND LIVE coverage of this inferior race. The Giro is not called a GRAND TOUR for nothing.
3) Later this week I see you are continuing saturation coverage of the Tour of California, introducing daily prime time highlights of the (also) minor Tour of Norway…while…yes indeed…the Giro is relegated to midnight or later highlights – if I’m lucky. I work hard during the day – so cannot see your live daily daytime coverage of the Giro, and am often too tired to stay awake for late highlights around midnight. Were this the Tour de France would you screen that at 11.30 pm while showing the Tour of Azerbaijan or somesuch nonsense at primetime?!? WHAT THE fucocking hell is going on Eurosport?
4) And where is David Harmon on the commentary? The Scottish Frankie Boyle soundalike is not bad but why is the Giro getting such second rate treatment from you?
