I love British Eurosport – its the only decent sports channel I have..
Just two criticisms:
1) That overly large, overly colourful logo is soooo annoying! At least its on the right which covers up slightly less important stuff, but why is it on the screen at all? I know what I’m watching!
2) There are so many motorsport events where the commentator fails to mention what models of car the drivers are racing. This is something that is of major importance to viewers and I find myself spending lots of time trying to work out what some cars are. GT racing and rallying and the Dakar event are the worst offenders. All too often if a car is mentioned its called by the manufacturers name “and there goes Jones in the Toyota” Toyota what? What size engine is it? How close to standard is it? I don’t know who Jones is but I know the cars and every mention of a driver should be followed by the car. So There goes Jones in the Hi-Lux Dakar Special. More technical info fed sparingly through the show would be great.
These events are not all about the drivers. I, and most other viewers, are more interested if we know more about the cars.
3) I know I said 2 points sorry but just watching the Dakar and the sound is all over the place. The commentary is fine but then mini interviews with some of the racers are far quieter and bizzarely completely drowned-out with grunge-guitar sounding er, “music”. Odd.
