Brian Christopher Winter posted on Tuesday 20th December 2011 at 12:36I am a little disappointed that I had to go this route but here goes. I was a rumaging in my CD boxes (45 of them) and discovered that I had a CD from 1996 called ‘Test card Classics’. It is on Flyback Records. I can’t read the sleeve notes, the print is too small. Do any of you know if there are any more Test Card music CDs and can someone help me with the detils on the one i have.

Hi Brian,
There is a group I remember reading about called ‘The Test Card Circle’. As the name suggests they are afficionados of test card music not just in the U.K but europe wide also as much of the music recorded – instrumental only – was used in many countries. The have collections of CD’s on the music also. Other than that, youtube has any amount of classic test card music to while away the hours. The web address is http://www.testcardcircle.org.uk

Can I offer my thanks to Paul & Michael. As I said to Paul, a quirk of fate meant I am now able to access the sleeve notes of the CD. Don’t ask. And I have just taken delivery of ‘Big Band Width’ Testcard Classics 2, and as I have not found a way to contact him directly, through these pages I want to thank Tony Currie for the work he put into both CDs.
