US election night - UK broadcasters showing US broadcasts

posted on Monday 3rd September 2012 at 13:01

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone knows if any UK broadcasters are planning to show any of the US election shows on November 6th?

I know Sky has Fox News and CNN will probably simulcast with their US domestic service – but does anyone know if anyone is planning to take MSNBC’s coverage? (As a left-leaning liberal, would much rather I had Rachel Maddow tell me the results…) Or any of the other networks for that matter?

I’m not sure I can stomach British journalists pretending they know about America!

Cheers!

James, if past experience is anything to go by, CNBC Europe will take the MSNBC coverage.

Last year, BBC Parliament rebroadcast RTÉ‘s coverage of the Irish elections. Given this, and their rebroadcasting relationship with C-SPAN, it could well be that they take C-SPAN’s coverage.

You could also experiment with Tunnelbear which could give you proper, live, coverage from the US.
