SSVC provides radio, television, cinemas and live entertainment to the British Forces and their families around the world. We also manage the British Defence Film Library and have an exciting opportunity for a pro-active and enthusiastic individual to become our new Library Assistant and undertake all the administrative duties that entails.
Those duties will include retrieving footage requested by customers, transferring footage onto appropriate media (using editing software), logging all material received by BDFL and updating the BDFL website. In addition you will be liaising with the Technology department regarding the import and export of digital media, assisting with the ordering and distribution of DVD’s and games for troops in operational areas and will work with British Forces News staff helping them to search for archive material when required.
To be considered for this position, you will have experience of office administration, be an excellent communicator and be skilled at interacting with people at all levels. Attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask are essential requirements, whilst knowledge of the British Armed Forces and of non-linear editing systems would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and a team player, as well as being someone who is able to work on their own initiative.
