Reports today have suggested that ZEE TV will be axing it’s once numero uno show 'Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann' due to falling viewing figures.
However, a report on TellyChakkar has hinted that a decline in ratings isnt just to blame but also the stars involved in the making of the soap. (more)

Colors has triumphed yet again in the latest set of India TV ratings.
According to TelevisionPoint, the Viacom18 owned channel has retained the number two position in the last week of December, despite being on par with ZEE TV in the previous week. (more)

ZEE TV and STAR Plus have announced the launch of several new shows to coincide with the new year, its been confirmed.
In the UK, ZEE TV will be starting 'Choti Bahu' and 'Ranbir Rano' on Monday 12th January and Friday 16th January respectively. (more)

ZEE TV UK has confirmed it will be launching two new dramas in January.
The channel has been struggling to find a slot in its primetime schedule to accommodate new offerings due to an overload of original shows.
Currently ZEE TV has all original shows from 18:00 - 23:30 weeknights. (more)

TV Strike: Work resumes as decision reached

An agreement has finally been reached between the Federation of Western India Cine Workers (FWICE) and TV producers in the month-long strike in India.
Dinesh Chaturvedi, General Secretary, FWICE, confirmed to Exchange4Media that "the strike is off and the shootings, too, have resumed completely". (more)

ZEE TV has confirmed it is axing 'Teen Bahuraaniyaan' in exchange for a romantic soap inspired by epic love tales 'Heer Ranjha' and 'Romeo Juliet'.
The show titled 'Ranbir Rano' is produced by Shreya Creations and will take over the slot left vacant by 'Teen Bahuraaniyaan'. (more)

INX Media to launch 9XM in the UK imminently

Punit Goenka replaces Guha as ZEEL CEO

The news has been doing the rounds for several weeks...its now become official that Pradeep Guha has quit as CEO of ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL).
Punit Goenka, whole-time director and network operating officer of the company, will replace Guha as ZEEL CEO with immediate effect. (more)

Media regulator Ofcom has given ZEE Cinema a telling off over "violent" scenes it broadcast during the day in the movie 'Ek Ajnabee' in May.
A viewer expressed her concerns to Ofcom stating she was shocked along with her nephews at watching such a violent film during the afternoon at the weekend. (more)

New ZEE Network channel branding revealed

The branding of ZEE Network's youth orientated channel ZEE Next has officially been revealed.
ZEE Next will be the second general entertainment channel (GEC) in the ZEE bouquet beside ZEE TV, the current flagship service. ZEE Next will carry the tagline "Dil Wahi, Dhadkan Nayi". (more)
Laloo Prasad appears on 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'

Indian politician (Union Minister for Railways) Laloo Prasad Yadav has agreed to appear on ZEE TV's hit show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Challenge 2007', according to Mumbai Mirror.
However, before he accepted the offer, he made sure the contestants would only wear Indian attire. (more)

ZEE TV is celebrating after its show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Challenge 2007' hit a record ratings high last week.
It scored a rating of 8.4 TVRs on Saturday 21st July 21 (featuring Salman Khan) and 5.8 TVRs on Friday 20th July. (more)

ZEE TV's soap 'Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka' will be dubbed into Chinese and broadcast in China, according to The Times Of India.
This will be the first Indian show to be dubbed in Chinese and shown in China.

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has reported its first quarter consolidated revenues of Rs 3,916 million, representing a 35 per cent growth over the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. The consolidated operating profit stood at Rs 1,197 million. (more)
