Dutch broadcaster SBS introduces word puzzles via teletext

Dutch commercial broadcaster SBS is today introducing a new teletext service on its three TV channels - word puzzles. The six puzzles, which inckude Sudoku, will be renewed each Monday. SBS is offering the chance of prizes to viewers who send in the correct solutions by sms.

Parliamentary TV channel to be launched in the Netherlands

Dutch public broadcaster NOS is to launch a digital TV channel which will carry live coverage of parliamentary debates and meetings from The Hague. NOS Director Gerard Dielessen said yesterday that the channel is planned to launch on 1 September. At present, live coverage of parliament is restricted to a page on teletext, and viewers of NOS News see snippets selected by its editors. In future, (more)
