Deutsche Welle and Mauritanian Radio sign cooperation deal

Deutsche Welle gains new partner in Moldova

Ethiopian jamming hits Voice of America, Deutsche Welle

BBC Monitoring (BBCM) can confirm that two major Western broadcasters are suffering consistent jamming of their transmissions to Ethiopia.  Jamming is deliberate interference aimed at preventing the target broadcast from being heard. Deutsche Welle via Bonaire frequency change on 15 November

Deutsche Welle’s broadcast in German to Australia and New Zealand at 0800-1000 UTC via Bonaire will change its frequency from 15 November onwards due to interference from a Spanish DRM transmission on 9780 kHz. The current frequency, 9785 kHz, will change to 9885 kHz. (more)

Deutsche Welle now broadcasting regular DRM service to South Asia

Since 2 July, Deutsche Welle has been broadcasting regular DRM transmissions in English beamed to South Asia from its relay station at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. Shortwave transmissions are at 0500-0600 UTC on 12005 kHz and 0800-0858 UTC on 12070 kHz (both 90 kW, beam 345 degrees). Deutsche Welle to make some shortwave cuts on 25 April

In a circular dated 13 April, Deutsche Welle announced the dropping of shortwave transmissions in Albanian, Bosnian and Serbian, with the exception of the Serbian transmission at 2000-2015 UTC, as of 25 April. Uzbekistan bars Deutsche Welle correspondent

Uzbekistan has cancelled the accreditation of one of Deutsche Welle's correspondents in the country, the latest reporter for an international broadcaster to have his credentials revoked. The country has taken an increasingly tough line with foreign media since they reported eyewitness accounts of troops opening fire on a crowd in the town of Andizhan last year, killing hundreds of civilians. Deutsche Welle back on mediumwave in Moscow

The German and Russian programmes of Deutsche Welle are back on the air on 693 kHz mediumwave in Moscow, following a week of disruption after the airtime provider lost its licence. Deutsche Welle Director Erik Bettermann has thanked the Russian Minister for Telecommunications, Leonid Reiman, for speeding up the process of sorting out new licences.
